Palworld – Universally Helpful Tips and Tricks

Universal

  • If you want to traverse dungeons faster since every room will now allow riding pals thru it, you can use the grapple gun on the ceiling -> crouch once you gain a bit of momentum above ground -> glide all the way to the other side of the room.
  • You can capture merchants and deploy them at your base whenever you need certain low lvl materials.
  • You can manipulate Pal spawns by running slightly out of view from the area you want to farm. As soon as the pals from the distance disappear, you can return and typically it’ll be a new set. This is very useful for farming legendaries at the sanctuaries. You can also triple the pal spawn rate in the game settings too (be warned, this may triple the overworld bosses as well!)
  • Always bring a warm resistant armor and cold resistant armor when doing big travel expeditions. Later in the game you will find underwear/shirts as accessories that will provide cold+warm resistance.

Base + Production (Important!)

  • Multi-support type pals are the WORST. While it does spruce up your base, they are often the reason why you never get anything done. Try to capture pals with only one or two specific support types so that they will stick to their tasks since they will seek for another activity if it’s available. l try to do one of everything.
    • Best pals for Watering: Azurobe, Broncherry aqua
    • Best pals for Kindling: Jormund ignis, foxsparks, suzaku
    • Best pals for Mining: Anubis, Digtoise.
    • Because of this Mammorest is a great gatherer but in later stages, you should ideally swap them out for better alternatives!
  • Size matters. Larger pals will often get stuck and clip themselves into weird places, causing injuries. Sometimes it’s better to choose pals with weaker support levels so that they dont run into these problems. Until the devs fix their ai, this might be the better option. The smaller they are, the less problems you’ll face.
  • Search for flat bases. There are far and few inbetween but flat bases are often easier for pathing. Walls will not prevent your pals from staying inside. They will walk through it, into the aether and disappear.
  • If you have raids turned on but you want to afk near a specified base for certain item production, try to afk in a nearby high structure or safe area where the base is barely visible but the furniture inside is still spawned in. Your pals will still be working but they cannot be seen and raids will not trigger.
  • If you want a good coal and iron ore mining base, go to 190, -37 (coordinates. this place, while bumpy, has 4 coal spots and 6 iron ore spots. A perfect lategame base.
  • An ideal setup for the 3 bases you’re allowed is:
    • A flat base for production. Your main place.
    • A farm base with all plantations and ranches. This is your primary food production and breeding spot. Upgrade your feed boxes with pizza and carbonara once you ahve the resources flowing.
    • A mining base with furnaces and mining pals. Ingots can be transferred to main base by having the chest near the pal box.
  • For traveling massive amounts of items between bases, use the grappling gun and launch yourself towards the palbox. Always set a chest near each pal box for easy deposits.

Pal Fights

  • Daedream and Dazzi have passives that let them appear with you during fights and passively attack every 5 seconds. Reserve 2 spots on your team if you want strong and consistent firepower when the ammo runs out.
  • A general exploration team should consist of an eikthyr deer for antler rush spam and a helzephyr for swift movement through bumpy terrain. Mobility skills are an added bonus later and jetdragon can replace helzephyr once you have access
  • Catch rates are fake. The server often has added rate values once you login which will affect your capture rate. Even though it is 0.5%, you will often capture it within 20 spheres. The main objective is to simply get it low enough and then spam that shit until it’s captured.
  • Tower bosses will be downright annoying even when you have a strong team. Respeccing your stats to attack and health will be the best option if you were initially a gathering-focused build. Assault rifle is king when you throw pals to catch aggro and shotgun is best once you understand the attack patterns they give.
  • Never attack while riding on a pal. You are just making it easier for the boss to hit you both.

My first game was Naughty Dog’s Crash Bandicoot (PlayStation) back in 1996. And since then gaming has been my main hobby. I turned my passion for gaming into a job by starting my first geek blog in 2009. When I’m not working on the site, I play mostly on my PlayStation. But I also love outdoor activities and especially skiing.
