Honkai: Star Rail – Frosty Blade’s Trial Mission

Story Analysis: Yanqing Companion Mission – Frosty Blade’s Trial

Although I assumed Yanqing would meet Jingliu according to the previous pv, I didn’t expect this soon, even Jingyuan didn’t know about this. While he could probably get a general picture – in the transition scene of the main story, we can notice this. Plots like two strangers meeting each other by accident are quite common. I didn’t expect it to be in the main story line, but in Yanqing’s Companion Mission instead.

The plots of the need to mentioned on purpose are in fact not many since the story in this game, due to its bias road film structure style choice, generally are not much difficult to understand. The main plot are relatively concise and the details of the pavement also relatively slow but in progress, which make sure players don’t need to deal with bunch of infos in one breath. The only thing need to mention is that Jingyuan have probably known this would happen already.

[Which is here]

This has mentioned above.

Jingliu is designed as a combat mania, so it’s no surprise when she shows here. The previous pv also shows her in the mara-stuck while for some reason she ‘s getting better now. But I think she barely pulls herself together.

This time I also would like to point out some places that is worth noticing in order.

First conversation that worth mentioning:

Jingliu said she came from Xianzhou Cangcheng.

Yanqin knew nothing about this place. While in fact, this Xianzhou is not one of the six indeed. The current six is introduced by Danheng to us and March 7th (choose from conversation and is also mentioned in his collection of intelligence on the Xianzhou Luofu. While these six Xianzhou are also mentioned in Records of Yellowbell Resonance.

So, which Xianzhou does this name represent? If you did your research, you would probably notice:

[BTW, this series of contexts is very incredible on both annotation and …you certainly don’t want to miss this one!

Also, plot planning HKS even considered that it’s not very efficient enough to provide information based on ancient prose only, so plenty of annotations are added.

Of course, it also has a small flaw that is easy to be overlooked – the screenwriter who compiled this story and text took the year too neatly… Obviously forgot that the year also has to be refined. For the sake of reading experience, I will make up my mind as it is around Carry xxxx.]

Cangcheng, like the others, is one of the Xianzhou that has already been sunk (destroyed).

It says Xianzhou was destroyed in the 6300 Star Calendar. While the Yellowbell Resonance record contains over 8000 Star Calendar contents. Cangcheng was destroyed at least 2,000 years ago.

Although it seems inaccurate to call this Xianzhou is “sank”. Unlike missing Daiyu and Yuanqiao, Cancheng, according to this ode, is “devoured” by the activated planet Rahu.

In other words, there may be a slight chance that some people managed to survive while Xianzhou itself must be destroyed. After all, the ode says it was “consumed by the planet of sentient evil.” (or maybe vise versa?)

This is interesting. Although Jingliu is Jingyuan’s shifu , she is not very young for sure. I personally think her age may be double Jingyuan’s, like about 1000 especially after I saw the pv.

While it turns out, her age is over 2000. Didn’t expect this was coming. In addition, it also indicates that the story shows one thing that is quite important:

The story about long-life species is not something shallow anymore. It is more than some background settings. (Though the settings is also quite something) The whole plot get deeper and is actually developed broadly. There is one long-life species that has a story of thousands of years and is shown to players.

[This is different from a single character in a long-life specie’s story. The writing of one story for this is too hard, while this one is developed in a way I have never seen before. Even Elf stories focus on other events and stress on “nature” instead of immortality…]

If nothing else, Jingliu is probably the first long-life species to make a formal entry as a link or thread throughout the whole story.

The second is a small detail that appears in a interaction contexts before arriving at the Cloudford:

I might notice Zhujin somewhere… While I tried to find her, I couldn’t. First, I thought she was the mysterious undercover who really went over the enemy, but no. This one is handled by MC and doesn’t fit. While this might happen on Danheng’s side of the story. In any case, if there is no accident, it is entirely possible that this should refer to our railway team members.

The next one is when Yanqing turns to question Jingliu:

Jingliu directly admitted frankly, and it was indeed as expected above. Having mara inside and wearing a black veil to paste the vision was also to “never fall again into mara and destruction”. Everyone who has seen the pv also knows that this should refer to the recurrence of the mara-stuck.

This is followed by the next point that should be notice:

It seems she knows Blade and is familiar with him. At least she knows Blade is not his name in the first place, which has never been mentioned before.

Besides this there is no other things to analyze. All simple and clear. So next I would like to talk about something funny behind the main plot.

Last time I mentioned using task outline to fulfill the content, which is a small trick commonly seen in HKS, is quite something.

[Can’t wait. Try to acheive something.]

[How…?]

[Finally he figures this out!]

[Secretly feeling sorry for losing the chance to show in front of this big sister (actually the grand-shifu)]

[Something if fishy so decides to test Jingliu — this is also what I point out in Note 1]

[Interesting. How confident.]

[Something is wrong. Stay calm and keep up]

[Sigh. Why pick on a young man like me?]

[ Looks like my end is coming — what a trailblazer spirit!

Must practice enough to save my ass. Too terified.]

BTW, there is a big news at the end of the mission

While consider she says lots of things like the stone lion stories, so this info is hard to believe. But if the following plot do says something related to these… This might be a hard TRUE.

One more thing I need to mention is Jingliu’s character detail. During combat, players normally can’t check her details. While if we tap to skip Yanqing’s info to her or change this page several times, we can see her skill:

[This screenshot I got by switching character’s info. And also a bug appears after switching multiple times. The whole game get stucked a little.

But she still gets nothing else but a skill name.

While there is something worth mentioning —

In regular operation, players cannot check the detailed info and Jingliu is shown as the Destruction.

While if the bug is triggered, her Path is changed into the Hunt on the skill page.

While judging from the character design, most likely she is a Hunt. I don’t expect characters with multiple Paths like MC to be released this soon…?

Here comes some meme!

[I wonder what is different about choosing a male MC. More like a “you think this beauty can’t do it” style?

[Well. Okay…]

He certainly has a good taste in books. This paragraph is considered incredibly bad.]

[Make sense. Very persuasive]

[He surely has a mouth talking. While allow the big sister (grand-shifu) to show you the of this world.

[I Refuse!!

He Takes It Anyway Lol.]
