EVERSPACE 2 – How to Farm Bloodstar Gear

Bloodstar Farming Guide

Bloodstar gear are unique versions of certain weapons and modules in the game which offer both unique effects and a set bonus if you equip 2 or 3 Bloodstar gears at once. Unique effects on Bloodstar gear is additional to the normal secondary effects that can appear on that gear.

Bloodstar gear cannot be crafted, and has a chance to drop from any slain Bloodstar unit. Besides the restriction that Bloodstar gear cannot drop as a common rarity, the drop rate for rarity and grade (normal, prototype, starforged) appears to be the same as normal loot.

To efficiently farm Bloodstar gear, roam around the Western half of Ceto, where Bloodstar units can naturally spawn. I recommend looping between Siren’s Sea. Outlaw Outpost, Palaemon’s Wound, and Abandoned Military Outpost. Stop at all Distress Calls and Unknown Signals in between locations, as Bloodstar units can spawn there as well. Leave for the next location as soon as you kill all units.

As soon you have two pieces, equip them to activate the 2-pices set bonus “Bloodstar equipment now has an 15% chance to drop from any Outlaw.” Continue to roam around West Ceto until you find what you want or go insane.

Be patient, remember that the game essentially has pass 2 loot rolls: first to drop Bloodstar gear at all, and second to give you decent loot.

Recommended Build (+ Rift Farming)

The basic premise was to keep ultimate up and available as much as possible, crank up shield capacity and find unique ways to restore the shield. We use a total of 3 sets in this build. Vigilante is solely there as extra dps to only amplify the Gunships already immense dps output. The Tides set is there to keep our ult up and available while supersizing our shield capacity.

The commander set is there as a unique way to refill our shield on top of the passive that Tides gives us. Wrath of the Fallen fulfills our need of allies to trigger shield refills on top of giving us that one unique twist of utilizing otherwise unavailable resources I.E. Okkar Shield recharge drones, Frost Shield Drones, as well as the plethora of enemy ships that will divert some attention away from you allowing you to play even more aggressively which the Gunship absolutely loves.

Even at 1k Lunacy you can just about dive right in so long as you’re constantly taking down enemies, your shield should keep refilling. You can reroll your equipment however you see fit, I chose to focus solely on the Shredder. Got a few rolls to amplify the destabilize damage as well as if they do take out the shield you fire a free EMP and on that off chance you do really start taking some damage, once your hull is low enough your shield will refill for free.

For devices, I use Teleport (augment of choice I drop mines) Front Shield Generator (I use all day for weapon energy) Missile Defense System (optional but keeps you free of enemy webber missiles) Nano Transmitter (Carefree Package gives us that oh so tasty shield refill) For Adam’s passives I used to use while boosting take 25% reduced damage which did more than fine but eventually swapped for the invincibility.

Focus on crit passives for more refill and support devices for even more energy management so our Shredder never stops firing.

The few other bonus perks that kind of worked out in my favor more than I appreciated at first is getting that 1% slow on the gauss cannon with 50% crit on movement impaired enemies. That 3 seconds just decimates larger ships if it triggers early. The other one is the Gunship passive 15% boost + 20% boost during ult from the Tides booster makes the Gunship surprisingly agile. Even moreso when you pick up some rare orbs and get that 20% improved handling. This setup really does turn the Gunship into an absolute menace.

So much firepower that average crits against destabilized enemies are between 14-18k and should you fire your secondary normally, those too stack (will probably be changed in the future but hopefully not as it’s awesome) but you will absolutely slaughter, melt, annihilate, decimate, obliterate, anything you do that to.

If you push destabilize stacks to upwards of 10-12, your coil gun turret can crit for 250-300k and your Shredder can crit for 95-100k. Absolutely absurd DPS. It’s more than possible to still melt anything even without doing that. It just streamlines the process of rift farming.
