Frequently Asked Questions
White Screen on Windows
We have two possible solutions:
- If you have Bitdefender/Windows Security, then you will need to open it up. Once you open up Bitdefender/Windows Security you should see a notifications tab on the bottom left. Next, you will want to view the notifications and you should see a message saying that an application access was blocked. Click on view application and then it will take you to a list of applications that may have been blocked. Look for Milo and the Christmas Gift and then click on the gray oval to the right. It should change to a blue oval with a check mark next to it. That means you should now have access. Restart the game and you should have access.
- Some times the game/app also needs access to controlled folders.
A few example steps for Windows Security
- Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
- Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
- Under Controlled folder access, select Manage Controlled folder access.
- Switch the Controlled folder access setting to On or Off.
White Screen on macOS
When you can first play the game without issues but after closing the game and starting again it gives a blank or white screen. This is a permissions issue, please do the following:
- Go to System & Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders > Milo and the Christmas Gift and make sure it has access to documents, so it should be checked.
Black Screen on Windows
Disabling hardware acceleration on flash player content should fix this issue. Here are the instructions on how to solve it:
- Navigate to this folder:
- X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Milo and the Christmas Gift\META-INF\AIR\
- Open the application.xml with a text editor like NotePad++ for example and find the line direct change the direct to cpu, like this: cpu
- Save the file, close it and then try to run the application.
If this doesn’t work, it could help to change the sound quality in the Windows sound settings to 16 bit 44 kHz.
