Quick Guide to Jace
We use the Jade Set to get a lot of Armor. The Turtle set is used for its scaling Gauntlet and the Armor Shields it provides. For the Head slot, you can use either a Leather Helmet or Demonic Helmet. I mostly used Leather later in the game.
A key part of this defense strategy is the strength of Armor Shields. They can block any damage and seem to ignore many abilities. The Turtle set also lets us attack Kotya on the first turn without problems, except for Kotyas in the second row if you’re wearing Demonic gear.
It’s important to break down some Hunter gear to get 100% precision, or you’ll have trouble later. Breaking down some Bloodedges can be useful too, to get 100% penetration, just in case.
For the first 2 or 3 floors, your early gear should look like this: You can use a Wooden sword and Body armor at first, break down Axes for enough damage, then switch to leather armor and an Iron Dagger.
For the mid-game, up to about Floor 15, your gear should look like this: The Orion Set is very good because it gives you a lot of Health and Armor to keep you alive. On Floor 9, you’ll get the Orion Weapon, which should be good enough until about floor 20.
You can use Silver gear for a while because the weapon is decent, but I prefer Orion for better defense. Try to buy Turtle Gear in advance, so you can switch to it more easily after floor 15 when the Gauntlet becomes available.
After that, try to switch to the Final Gear set as shown at the beginning. You don’t need Thronglers or Excalibur, but they can be useful for a while and help you generate more gold. You can use a Darkness Ring if you want, but I found it a bit awkward to use.
- This same setup also works well when fighting Pyry.
For your starting Runes, you have two main options:
Setup 1:
More Dazzle + extra attack (Great for early + Demonic; scales a bit poorly).
Setup 2:
3 Armor Shields for better endgame scaling & Defence. This is the better pushing option.
