Kadomon: Hyper Auto Battlers – EXP System Guide

Guide on the Current EXP System

It’s a long read, but the “best method” section is the main take-away, the rest is just background. If you’ve ever wondered how to get to the final boss with three tier-3 mons and one tier-2 mon, this is for you.

Basic EXP?

  • Tier-1 = 60exp
  • Tier-2 = 120exp
  • To get to tier-3 = 180exp

General plan is to:

  • Get around 60exp passively through battles.
  • Get 60exp per mon from exchanging dupes/rest nodes/event nodes twice for 30exp each
  • Get 60exp from binning a full bank of tier-2 mons
  • Total = 180exp or tier-3

To Finally “Solve” The Three Tier-3 Mons:

  • 8 Mons are needed to fill the team and inventory. (starter and gnock fill 2 slots).
  • 6 mons/+30EXP are needed to level 3/4 mons.
  • 8+6 = 14 resources/nodes that would be needed.
  • 15 – 14 = 1 spare node. (three tier-3, one tier-2)
  • More to spare If you sell 1 of 4 party mons to just go three tier-3.

Last limiting factor is getting 60exp from selling “banked” mons. Several ways to do this, some examples:

  • 12 battles (5×12 =60exp) sac 4 mons for 30exp + 2 rest stops/30exp + any node = three tier-3, one tier-2

Make sure to currently own all mons planned for use before binning a mon for EXP. If you pick-up a mon for the team after binning a mon you will be short that binned EXP to bring it to tier 3.

  • 11 battles (5×11 =55exp) sac 2 mons for 30exp + bin 1 mon for 5exp + 4 rest stops/30exp = three tier-3, one tier-2
  • 11 battles (5×11 =55exp) sac 3 mons for 30exp + bin 1 mon for 5exp + 3 rest stops/30exp + any node = three tier-3
  • 10 battles (5×11 =50exp) sac 2 mons for 30exp + 1 rest stop fodder mon to bin for 10exp + 4 rest stops = three tier-3

TLDR

Basically you can get three tier-3 mons with 10-12+ battles.

The less battles you do the more likely it will be to sac the 4th party member to make the other three tier-3s. Conversely the more battles, the more RNG is needed to find duplicates to upgrade the team.

The easiest approach is to just count the battles (or the easier way 15 – non battles = battles) so you’ll have an idea if you’re playing with a 3 or 4 mon team for the boss. Knowing how many mon you need to sac for dupes or bin is also pretty helpful.

Best Method

After testing 12, 11, and 10 run battles it became pretty clear that 11 run battles are the strongest and most flexible option. It allows the use of event nodes, requires few duplicate mons, and can adjust when RNG goes wrong.

Make sure to currently own all mons planned for main team before binning a mon for EXP. If you pick-up a mon for the main team after binning a mon you will be short that binned EXP to bring it to tier 3.

A bonus from a battle at an event node is stronger than just binning a mon since 5exp is the main objective. Below is the ideal and fallback case.

  • 11 battles: [sac 3 duplicate mons] + [1 battle at event node] + [3 rest stops/30exp] = three tier-3, one tier-2
  • 11 battles: [sac 3 duplicate mons] + [bin 1 mon for 5exp] + [3 rest stops/30exp] + [any node] = three tier-3

Opting for a more consistent run but a great type synergy pops up in the rest stop? Below is the consistent and adjusted/flexible case.

  • 11 battles: [sac 2 duplicate mons] + [bin 1 mon for 5exp] + [4 rest stops/30exp] = three tier-3, one tier-2
  • 11 battles: [sac 3 duplicate mons] + [bin 1 mon for 5exp] + [3 rest stops/30exp] + [any node] = three tier-3

Instead of going for maximum EXP, use rest stops to gain additional types, or opt for events to gain additional bonuses

  • 11 battles: [sac 2 duplicate mons] + [bin 1 mon for 5exp] + [2 rest stops/30exp] + [any 2 nodes] = two tier-3, two tier-2

All four mons tier 3s by the boss?

There are several different scenarios but its always short 1 resource; mon or exp.

The most concise way to look at it is:

  • 8 Mons are needed to fill the team and inventory. (starter and gnock fill 2 slots).
  • 8 mons/+30EXP are needed to level all 4 mons.
  • 8+8 = 16 resources/nodes that would be needed.
  • Each node giving only one resource needed but never both at once being either: {a mon to keep} or {a mon to sac/30EXP}
  • 15 nodes = 15 resources; or 1:1 ratio between nodes and resources.
  • 15 nodes in game – 16 needed nodes = -1

Now What?

Aside from going for maximum EXP and beating the game with three tier-3 mons, and one tier-2 mon… Synergies are becoming more important with each patch. This adds a lot more strategy then simply playing for max EXP.

Perhaps you opt for types/events over EXP and go for two tier-3 mons and two tier-2 mons; this let’s you have 2 “free nodes” instead of using 2 nodes as rest stops for 30exp to get the extra tier-3 mon. With these 2 “free nodes” you can add type from rest stops or gain additional bonuses from event nodes.

Bottom line. You don’t have to follow this at all, it’ll likely be useless in a couple patches anyways. Have fun and play the game however you want.
