Intro
I got to wave 8 on first try then game crashed and managed to get to 10 but it was messy. I cleared the map of rebels hoping it would end the game but nope. LoL…
Beginner’s Tips to Get You Started
I build like 9 builder huts +1 from the Town Hall so 10 in total for like instant building because when you expand they have to walk FAR and you need to constantly keep repairing and rebuilding the razed buildings. I had like 5 barracks and 1 siege works that pumped out 15 catapults would go for 20 and then split my forces with that amount. Depending how fast you want to clear the map you can send archers to safely sweep the rebels out to secure resources or quickly send in 50 swords to do the job. Swords are better than archers since they don’t cost any wood and they kill faster, but you have to worry about picking up the dead bodies or else they will turn into zombie and bite you in the back. They aren’t that strong but they will attack walls or your undefended resource outpost which disrupts the flow. This is where the cemetery comes in I had like 2 filled up. If you want to clean the battlefield quickly of dead bodies then build forward gravediggers like 15-20 to pick up all the dead bodies and then delete the buildings.
At the start I go for an aggressive push since it’s the most peaceful period until wave 4’ish and then you can start building walls. So I killed all the rebels by wave 5 and collected all the soul gems you want to save them and not use the dark knights they are only good for EARLY game and to distract unexpected raids on your economy buildings until your troops come then you can send them in to die til they despawn. What you really want to save the gems for is the particle beam but you have to be careful since it kills friend or foe and I would use like 2 beams in a big wave.
You should eat up all the food on the map and store them in the granary I had like 4 then I put a wall up around it because once a enemy breaks through in the larger waves you don’t want to lose your supply same thing for wood you may not need it in the early game but in the bigger waves you need a lot to spam walls and you can’t wait around waiting to chop them down.
Once you have taken all the food on the map and a good amount of wood you want to cut down on your population since workers / soldiers take up food and start to ration it. When I had a large army sweeping the map they would eat like 256 food a day then when i cut it down they would eat 50-100. I had ran out of the fish from the save spots and berries near the edge of the map where it was red workers refused to collect them so there was like 1,000 food that was untouchable.
Vision is important so I had Watch Towers in every direction revealing the fog of war so I could reposition troops to defends sections. It’s important to put archer at an elevated position or their arrows would get stuck in buildings or walls so that wouldn’t hurt the enemy.
