This guide is how to set up and play as a front line, in the trenches, skull smashing apothecary. No more cowering and healing from the rear!
Armor Perks
For Armor perks i tend to use the following:
Cooldown Reducer Adornment: Go for the Mass Heal Reducer buff to make the AOE heal cooldown faster for heals to help top off group members and can be used in a pinch to help keep people alive.
Effect Reducer Adornment: I use the acid damage 50 buff on this since exploding genestealers hurt. Others may have a prefered reduction buff for certain damage types but i find this works well.
Effect Boost Adornment: I use the 20% armor booster as it makes you super tanky and hard to kill.
The Golden Ticket
This is about the main perk to use and its very simple:
This perk is the best one to use for this type of Apothecary, since it will constantly heal you a small amount at a rather good tick rate until you are fully healed, or have healed yourself with your second abillity. It will even repair damaged limbs slowly from fully broken back to full.
This is what will make you VERY hard to kill and I can typically melee my way through the first few maps on medium difficulty without having to fire my weapon, only Broodlords cause issue with this.
Flavor Town
This is about what weapons to use, I tend to use the Redemption Shotgun when on FF On servers since the Hellfire does AOE damage to armor and friendly fire is anything but.
I recommend using the types of mods that you prefer for this since in my opinion its more about personal preference for sights and scanners and such. I use the firepower boost barrel and that’s the only thing that matters to me for this gun.
The Hellfire Bolter is good for games with no FF however I find the AOE effect to be blinding and thus i rarely use it in any game. I also prefer it when others don’t use that or flamers on me since I cant see the baddies I’m grinding into a fine red paste on the floor.
The Narthecium itself is a good melee weapon and it reduces skill cooldowns so always use it.
