Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do we heal?!
You can regenerate your Heart Charges by hitting enemies with your weapons. Each successful hit regenerates part of the Heart Charge. You can also find different Hearts that can provide you with additional Heart Charges and unique effects like auto regeneration. Some item affixes can increase the Heart Charge regeneration rate, so experiment with that!
What’s the ‘meat’ the players collect used for?
The Ichor (red ‘meat’ that you collect) is used to upgrade your gear in the Molten Cathedral at Amarict. You can also use it to level up the character in the Hall of Reflection at Amarict.
Does levelling up give anything to the player?
It increases all damage dealt by 5% per level. Going through the Reflection Portal also restores your health, but you can always do that for free using the healing orbs found in the Amarict.
What happens to my loot if I die?
Well, you lose it. And you will be sent back to where you came from – the Amarict.
The only gear that’s preserved is the one that’s been equipped or cleansed in the Molten Cathedral.
You can try to pick up your loot by returning to the place where you died. But if you die again without reaching the first corpse, you will lose it forever because when you die again, the old corpse with all the loot disappears and is replaced with the new one.
What do I do with the collected corrupted items?
Corrupted items can be equipped straight away, but you’ll lose them if you die during the run. To fully unlock their potential and use them safely, you first need to cleanse them. To do so, return to the Amarict and enter the Molten Cathedral in the main Citadel. Look for the red portal inside and approach the Cleansing Bell.
How do I return to the Amarict?
While on the level, look up to the sky and press ‘E’. Make sure there’s nothing above you obstructing the sky! The portal will open in a random spot on the level. Look for the bright beam in the sky and head to it!
I can walk on water. Is this a bug or a feature?
You are an unstoppable force, a powerful elemental warrior woven from the lightning itself. Sinking would be silly, so yes, your character walks on water.
What are the Sky Nodes for?
Sky Nodes act as the fast travel points across the level.
What’s the core game loop?
In short – battle hordes of enemies, gather valuable loot, and retreat back to the Hub, where you can cleanse and temper your collected items, enhance your skills, and then plunge back into the heat of battle!
During your runs, you will fight monsters and pick up corrupted loot from them. You will be able to bring it back to the hub, cleanse it there and fully start using it as pieces of your equipment.
You can also choose to quit the level at any given time through a summoned portal and keep the loot because if you die, you lose all the loot you’ve gathered so far and have to start anew. Once you feel confident, find your way to the Boss Arena and face the Fleshsmith Rogorog!
Boss Arena features a unique enemy, which will be challenging to defeat. The best strategy before entering the arena is to get more powerful gear, figure out the best-in-slot items that suit your playstyle, and familiarize yourself with skills and movement.
Once you defeat the boss, you will get unique loot as a reward and unlock the next level (in the full version of the game).
Is the game playable on Steam Deck?
Officially, not yet. But the game is fully playable; I’m just improving the quality following Valve’s team’s assistance. The biggest concern now is the scale of fonts in item and ability descriptions—it seems a bit too small.
I’ve defeated the BOSS. Is there anything else I can do?
Nothing stops you from exploring the world at your own pace, playing with different weapons and experimenting with various builds.
You can also adjust the difficulty levels in the Amarict before entering the level. Customize the monster density and amount of health they will have. But be careful with that. Experiment at your own risk.
