The True Way to Defeat The Homo Fios (Fish)
How to Prepare
The fish enemy uses buffs to increase its Hit/Evasion and debuffs to lower yours. A healer is useful because Dekunda can remove debuffs from your whole team in one turn.
The fish will then keep using the debuff attack every turn. You can buy binding ropes in the town before you leave. These lower a target’s Hit/Evasion for three turns and always hit. Mindless mallets can be bought from the masked merchant in Grand Trad.
He only sells one at a time, but you’ll want several because they often miss. Make sure each character can use fire damage. Igniters and mages are good for this, or you can have characters learn fire skills. Mages start with a fire skill that’s enough for this enemy.
How to Beat It
Actually, you don’t need all that preparation. Just give each character one way to deal fire damage and use it repeatedly.
The fish doesn’t do much damage if you use Dekunda every turn. It will waste its turn using the Hit/Evasion debuff, so you have plenty of time to win, especially if you just want to move on to the next room.
