Blue Wednesday – Fix for Game Not Launching

Workaround for games not launching after running the compatibility tool in SteamDeck.

When You Can’t Run Blue Wednesday on SteamDeck

Summary

1. In your Steam Library, go to [Blue Wednesday] > [Properties] > [Compatibility].
2. On the [Compatibility] tab, check [Force use of specific Steam Play compatibility tools].
3. Open the drop-down menu below and select Steam Linux Runtime.

When You Can’t Run

Blue Wednesday currently has a build uploaded for SteamDeck.

However, we often receive reports that the game won’t run on SteamDeck: Most of the time it will install, but sometimes it doesn’t make it past the compatibility tool checking stage to running the game.

To resolve this issue, you will need to change the settings below:

• In your Steam library, go to the properties window for [Blue Wednesday].

• Go to the Compatibility tab, and check the box for “Force use of specific Steam Play compatibility tools”.

• Select the drop-down menu directly below and select Steam Linux Runtime.

• Once selected, your game will update shortly afterward.

This seems to work in most cases.
