Beyond the Mountains – Steam Deck Guide

Here is a current guide to get Beyond the Mountains running on the Steam Deck. Please note that Beyond the Mountains is not natively a Steam Deck game.

How-To

1. Install Beyond the Mountains on your Steam Deck.
2. Click the “Settings” page for Beyond the Mountains. Select the “Properties” button. On the “Properties” page, click on “Comparability”. Check the box “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.” Select Proton Experimental.
3. Run Beyond the Mountains and select “Install Missing DLLs”. Without this crucial step, the game will not run. You only need to install the DLLs once.
4. Click the “Settings” page for Beyond the Mountains. Select the “Properties” button. On the “Properties” page, click on “Comparability”. Check the box “Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool.” Select GE-Proton7-37.
5. Click the “General” page for Beyond the Mountains. Under Game Resolution, select 1920×1080. Check the box “Set resolution for internal and external display.”
6. Exit the settings page. You can now play “Beyond the Mountains”!
