Fenyx Quest is still suffering from the low rating even though this is the most exciting DLC theme of UNO ever due to an unfortunate incident that can be called the developers’ negligence. This guide was created to let people know about the DLC, and to let it redeem the reputation. Also, it has many features that should be known in advance unlike other themes, there is a great difference between knowing and unknowing. This guide introduces some useful knowledge in actual matches too.

Basic Features
Introduce the basic knowledge for playing the DLC theme in this section.
The Four Sealed Gods
Players compete with borrowing the God’s power that grants a special technique. There are four kinds of miracles different each, which are randomly given at the beginning of the round to each player, but it is not available at first because the Gods have been sealed. In order to break the seal, you have to play 5 cards.
Ares
- Each time you play a card, discard 2 random cards of the same color you’ve played.
Athena
- After you play an odd number card, choose a player to skip the round and discard a random card from your hand.
Hephaistos
- For every 3 cards you’ve played, choose to discard all cards of a specific color.
Aphrodite
- Each time you play an Action Card, choose a card to give to any player and discard a random card from your hand.
Typhon’s Trap
The circle with a pattern in the center of battle field is a gauge, it is getting dyed violet little by little by each player plays a card, and then Typhon’s trap is activated when the circle is fulfilled with violet completely. It takes 16 times of playing a card until the trap starts, when it does, every player gets a cursed card wrapped with violet haze. Every player is forced to draw a card each time play a card as a penalty as long as the cursed one is in their hand, but you can avoid another misfortune when a cursed one exists in your hand already. Also, even if you have multiple cursed cards, the drawing penalty doesn’t multiply. The curse works earlier than any God’s technique is activated.
Two Kind of Exclusive Cards
There are two kinds of exclusive action cards in the theme, grab a victory using them timely and effectively.
Typhon’s Trick
It exists four in the whole deck, gives 4 cards to an opponent whom you choose then forces them to discard 2 cards randomly. You should play this card ASAP than save for a suitable using, because this card itself can be also subject to discarding.
Fenyx Power
It exists only two in the whole deck, removes any kind of 2 cards immediately from your deck. The worthy of special mention for this card is that the effect can be activated before the curse of the card works. Therefore, if use this card, you can win even from where 2 cursed ones are remaining.
Customization For Rules
The “Jump-in” rule is always unavailable in the theme, and each God can also be disabled individually by the theme picker. The two exclusive cards can automatically be disabled only when every God is deactivated.
Advanced Features
Introduce each God individually from this section.
Ares
Summary
Ares the God of war can discard 2 the same color cards in a row after play a card. Therefore, it’s possible to win from where up to 3 cards are remaining. Also, when the card is a Wild or Wild draw +4 that you has played, you can discard 2 cards of the same color which was changed by the wild card. It often happens that action cards like draw +2 are accidentally discarded that you are keeping, because you can’t choose cards for discarding even if there are multiple cards 3 or more. Therefore, it would rather be better to use them than discard, if there isn’t a risk that the drawing penalty stacks then comes back to yourself.
Strategy
There are fewer things else to do for Ares compared with other Gods because of its the simplest technique. Reduce cards in hand steadily, and aim to leave the 2 same color cards and Wild (+4) without being realizing by opponents.
Vs. Ares
There is no doubt that it will be a threat under the situation where it’s unknown which color cards he has, and only 3 cards are remaining. However, when he has discarded only 1 card, it can be founded that the color hasn’t existed in his hand anymore because of his characteristic that always discards 2 cards when there are multiple discadable cards in their hand. To trifle with changing the color is the theory when confront him.
Wild Draw +4
Even when play a Wild Draw +4 card despite having some color that can be played, remove the color using the technique of Ares, it makes a state that the color hasn’t existed. In consequence you can make opponent’s challenge failure.
7-0
Ares’s technique is activated after hands are exchanged. Therefore, you can win as it is in case of the all terms below are satisfied.
- 1) The hand’s destination of exchange are two or less.
- 2) If they are two cards, both have the same color.
- 3) The color of the 7 or 0 that you use for the exchange is same as the color of the hand’s destination of exchange.
2v2
If you are Aphrodite, it would be a good support to give him action cards like a Wild (+4) or the Fenyx Power. In case of you are Hephaistos, reduce cards in hand each other, and make effort not to get skipped only either intensively by Athena.
Evaluation
★★☆☆☆
Tbh, Ares is not strong so much, but shouldn’t underestimate just because it. It often happens that the next moment you find your self he has said UNO.
Athena
Summary
Athena has a tricky technique as the alias Goddess of wisdom suggests. When play an odd number card, make any opponent player skip then discard a card randomly. It’s effective that the player skipped cannot play at the turn, they are not able to avoid a draw penalty, so it’s possible to artificially disable the “Challenge” or “Stuck” rule. From the feature of technique, she can win from where maximum 2 cards left. Since it cannot be chosen which card for discarding, it’s a 50-50 chance gamble if succeed to leave a wild (+4) card as the last one using this ability.
Strategy
Basically, aim a goal where leave 2 cards that an odd number card and other one. You should rather support your buddy than aim to win yourself in 2v2 matches. Because if you and your buddy have the same number cards each other, your buddy can certainly change the color through the cards with skipping the opponent between you two and connecting the number.
Vs. Athena
At least previous player against Athena should refrain to play an odd number card. Otherwise it connects to the same number card in her hand, and increases the opportunity that she use the technique. The scene where Athena hardly makes up her mind to skip would be when it is hard to decide which opponent has more advantage. It’s better to reduce cards in hand each other in 2vs2.
7-0
Since the swapping hands is done earlier than the God’s technique is activated, you always can win if rob a card from the player who has called UNO.
2v2
It must be a quite effective tactic that Aphrodite gives an odd number card to her. Ares or Hephaistos should expect to be given a support changing the color.
Evaluation
★★★☆☆
Annoying level is equivalent to five stars.
Hephaistos
Summary
The technique of Hephaistos the God of blacksmiths is quite dynamic, it can discard the same color cards all in once. However, you cannot use immediately after he has been unsealed, in order to use it, need to fill the gauge that has a symbol of anvil by playing a card 3 times. Release the power once, the gauge goes back to empty. It would be the greatest advantage that even if no matter how many cards you amass, it doesn’t matter as long as they are the same kind of color. Because the Fenyx Power is also counted as “3 cards you’ve played” in the requirement, it is possible to win using it from where maximum 29 cards are remaining, even 3 kinds of color left. Discard 2 cards different colored at first using the card, then throw away the large stack of the same color. Make sure the order for the discarding.
Strategy
The way to such a victory above mentioned is quite rare and hard to realize, because the Fenyx Power card is often discarded by the Typhon’s Trick. The psychological damages added to the opponents are unfathomable, so it might have worth to try. Opponents usually realize which color you have. Therefore, you should rather aim to leave a Wild (+4) card as the last one than win with discarding the last color. If anything, leaving is more important than discarding for Hephaistos. It will happen that even if you have steadily been reducing cards in your hand, and it has suited for your tactics, Typhon’s Trap ruins it instantly. It would also be a proper tactic that dare draw a card when the trap’s activation is approaching.
Vs. Hephaistos
It’s easily guessable that the color he discarded is the one that he doesn’t have anymore. Aphrodite should give that color to him proactively.
Wild Draw +4
Even when play a Wild Draw +4 card despite having some color that can be played, remove the color using the technique of Hephaistos, it makes a state that the color hasn’t existed. In consequence you can make opponent’s challenge failure. This would succeed easier than Ares or Aphrodite because he can discard all cards of the same color.
7-0
If the hand’s destination of exchange is constructed with a single color, and you can rob the hand at the third turn, you will win. However, such fortunate hardly visits.
2v2
Unfortunately, even the buddy can’t know how many his gauge is accumulated for activating the technique. In order not to disturb his tactics, remember how many times he has played.
Evaluation
★★★★☆
If the gauge could be seen by other players, 1 star would have be subtracted.
Aphrodite
Summary
Only Aphrodite the Goddess of Beauty has a technique that hands over a card to any player. Also, she discards a card randomly after it does. To send a Draw +2, and to make it succeed stack is her favorite trick. This special power is activated when you play a action card that is Draw +2, Reverse, Skip, Wild, or Wild Draw +4 card, but the Two Exclusive Action Cards “Typhon’s Trick” and “Fenyx Power” cannot activate the power. She can win from where up to 3 cards including only 1 action card is remaining. Actually, this is a quite threaten. Because our challenge against her playing Wild Draw +4 is done after her technique is activated, it means she can play it without worrying a counterattack, regardless of the color in her hand. cough This is definitely OP, isn’t this. cough Ahem! Anyway, beware the number of cards in hand constantly when face off against the player blessed by her.
Strategy
Although her technique is strong enough in classic matches, it’s not too much to say that the true power is proven in 2vs2. Help your buddy with giving a card, disturb opponents with sending a cursed one, etc… You can trifle with opponents, and be active in the all round. The best goal is to create a state where 3 cards left including a Wild (+4) though, you would win even with having a Draw +2 instead of a Wild (+4).
Vs. Aphrodite
Never neglect to beware how many cards in her hand, and Never play Draw +2, Reverse, or Wild Draw +4 to her when her hand is 3 or less. To be subject to the destination of skip is as well. You may throw all of action cards that make opponent draw to her. Anyway make effort to decrease action cards in her hand.
Wild Draw +4
Even when play a Wild Draw +4 card despite having some color that can be played, remove the color using the technique of Aphrodite, it makes a state that the color hasn’t existed. In consequence you can make opponent’s challenge failure.
2v2
There wouldn’t be a reliable buddy more than Aphrodite. Unless the player blessed by her is extremely poor.

★★★★★
OP, this sums up everything.
