How to Shoot without Firing

For XBOX, hold X. After you have done that, you will see that Snake is about to shoot. To stop him from shooting, press down the left joystick. After pressing down the left joystick, Snake should put his gun down.

For PS4/5, Hold Square. After you have done that, you will see that Snake is about to shoot. To stop him from shooting, press down L3. After pressing down L3, Snake should put his gun down.

Sadly I have no idea if this works with full auto weapons or not. From my testing from the Virtuous Mission, the rifle found under the bridge was not able to be put down.
