Evolutionary Portals Deck
By Apache Attack Heli.
For this deck guide, I’ve decided to keep things simple, sharing my thoughts on a variation for a deck that helped me achieve that sweet rainbow avatar from Infinite conquest. The deck is a variation of the Evonault deck I’ve used to beat Infinite Conquest last season, and while I haven’t had much time to play it between the last OTA, I’d go as far as to say it’s stronger and I’ll be using it to attempt my second infinity conquest win this season.
The strategy here is not too far from your average High Evolutionary deck. The idea is to build out early using Sunspot, Misty Knight and Cyclops, whilist floating energy in order to hit the enemy with heavy numbers in the last turn with Hulk, Infinault and She-Hulk. So what’s the big deal you ask?
The deck plays simple enough, but at the times where you don’t draw your combo pieces, it can be difficult to figure out a way to win. That’s where Blink comes in, she can be an alternative play-line, yet another win condition that does not hinder any others.
Consider having that basic 4/4 High Evolutionary card stuck in your hand. Terrible right? Well, as long as you have Blink, and High Evolutionary in your hand, Blink can safely switch one of the 3 cost cards for a big power card from your deck, or you could even go as far as to play that underwhelming 4/4 card, in order to switch it with Blink later!
With Blink, drawing High Evolutionary is not anywhere near as bad as it was before! Another change from my previous High Evolutionary build was switching out Shocker for Psylocke. For a one power difference, you can run a card that is much more versatile, and can help either in floating energy or enabling devastating combos.

Matchups
The deck is fairly neutral when it comes to matchups, Luke Cage, Mobius M. Mobius, are high priority targets for Red Guardian, though it is possible to play around them and beat them. It is also important to watch out for Shang-Chi when playing Blink on curve, do try to either float energy on turn 5, powering up Sunspot, activating Cyclops, etc, in order to play her along with She-Hulk on 5, or to take advantage of the enermy’s armor, wakanda’s location, or just spreading your other 10+ powered cards around to make for harder targets.
Replacements
As for possible replacements, one flex spot here is Abomination, you can switch it for an even bigger body if you so desire, Red Hulk, Skaar, Magneto or even Dr.Doom, you could also put Shang-Chi in it’s stead. It depends on how much you value having a big body that’ll allow you to float energy in the later turns and can’t be destroyed by Shang-Chi.
Red Guardian is utterly amazing, and he truly makes the deck so much better. But if you don’t have him you can replace him with Cosmo or Mobius M. Mobius given the eminent release of Sasquatch.
Playlines
The basic end point of this deck is to drop either Hulk, or Infinault along with She-Hulk on turn 6.
In case of Infinault you can only play him if you skip the previous turn, to keep all that mana from going to waste, unspot will store all of it as power, Cyclops will afflict 2 cards on the opposite lane, and more importantly, She-Hulk will be made cheaper. Now if you skip turn 5, She-Hulk will still cost 1, which would normally make it impossible for us to play her alongside a 6 drop. And that’s where Hope and Psylocke come in, if you play Hope turn 3 on curve, and anything on her lane turn 4, on turn 5 you will have 6 mana, which will allow you to make She-Hulk cost 0. The same if Psylocke is played on turn 4, although that’d the lesser option of the two.
For this reason Hope should basically always be prioritized on turn 3 unless there is a very high value target for Red Guardian and you have priority, she should be played in the lane against possible targets for Red Guardian and Cyclops, since you’ll need to play those cards in her lane on turn 4, in order to activate her ability, also do consider placing her besides lower power card in order to protect her from Red Guardian.
You’ll usually want to play Cyclops on turn 4, since that’s when he can actually float energy and activate his ability, an exception is if you did not have either She-Hulk or Hope, or if you played Psylocke on turn 2, since she will allow Cyclops to activate his ability on turn 3.
Blink is the card that will allow us to go in a different direction if Hope, Psylocke or She-Hulk don’t come through.
Even if we did not draw She-Hulk by turn 5, if we have 6 mana we can play Blink, undo a weaker drop played previously and still float energy. If you have Blink but did not have Hope, Psylocke, She-Hulk nor a decent target for Red Guardian, it might be worth it to play High Evolutionary on turn 4, in order to switch him out later.
If you have all the combo pieces except Hulk and Infinault, you could just flow turn 5 as usual and play Blink along with She-Hulk on turn 6 and still manage to float energy. Even if we did not manage to amount 6 energy on turn 5, She-Hulk will still be able to be played along with Blink or Abomination.
The best thing Blink and Psylocke contributed to this deck was the great variying amount of playlines added. Adaptability that wasn’t there before.
Do be careful about switching out a 3 cost card when High Evolutionary is still in your deck, Blink is more safely played out of a turn 4 Abomination OR when you already have High Evolutionary in hands. It is also extremely important to pay attention to the order the cards get played.
I hope you found this deck useful!
