Stutter (How to Fix)

Note: Credit goes to SnortTheCocaineMom

My Specs:

  • GPU Rx570 8Gb Vram
  • 8Gb Ram 3200mhz
  • Ryzen 3200g

I am now able to play the game on high quality even with quality FSR.

What do you need? a brain, 5-10 mins of your time, and about 50-100gb of free HDD\SSD storage.

Step 1:

I edited the engine.ini file located at ‘Local/Hogwarts Legacy/saved/config/Windows no editor’ open engine.ini leave a space under the last line and insert:

[SystemSettings]
r.bForceCPUAccessToGPUSkinVerts=True
r.GTSyncType=1
r.OneFrameThreadLag=1
r.FinishCurrentFrame=0
r.UseVSync=True
r.TextureStreaming=1
r.Streaming.PoolSize=4096
r.Streaming.LimitPoolSizeToVRAM=1
r.MaxAnisotropy=8
r.DynamicShadows=True
r.MinShadowResolution=1024
r.MaxShadowResolution=3072
r.ShadowFadeExponent=1.0

[ConsoleVariables]
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdates=1
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesDuringGamethreadUpdates=1
AllowAsyncRenderThreadUpdatesEditor=1"

I have 8Gb vram so my “r.Streaming.PoolSize” is 4096 if you have 6gb put “2048”

Step 2:

Go to system properties->advanced->performance->advanced-> on virtual memory click “change” then click on “custom size” and put 50gb (50000MB) in the first text box and 100gb (100000MB) in the second one. click apply and double check to make sure the PC has mantained the setting.

Step 3:

Go to your steam library, right click on hogwarts legacy, click on properties and in the general tab disable steam overlay.

Step 4:

Locate Hogwarts legacy installation folder, right click on the exe file, click on properties->compatibilty and disable fullscreen optimization

Step 5:

Go again on “Local/Hogwarts Legacy/saved/config/Windows no editor and open “GameUserSettings.ini” under the line “[/script/engine.gameusersettings]” insert “bAnalyticsEnabled=False” save and close.

My first game was Naughty Dog’s Crash Bandicoot (PlayStation) back in 1996. And since then gaming has been my main hobby. I turned my passion for gaming into a job by starting my first geek blog in 2009. When I’m not working on the site, I play mostly on my PlayStation. But I also love outdoor activities and especially skiing.
