Ghost of Tsushima – Ending Choice Guide

This portion of the Ghost of Tsushima guide explains the ending choice and different endings you can get so you can pick the one that’s right for you.

Ending Differences

No matter what you choose, you’ll be able to keep playing the game after to get your platinum!

The difference is:

  • Final cutscene(s)
  • Different outfit color option unlocked
  • Different house name/location.

Ending Choice

After your final showdown with Lord Shimura, Jin’s Uncle presents a final choice for Jin. Return to your true samurai ways and kill him with honour, or walk away, adopting the mantle of Ghost permanently. Select one of the following (don’t worry! You’re asked to confirm it one last time so there’s no way you’ll accidentally select the wrong thing).

  • L2 Kill: Honour his wish for death.
  • R2 Spare: Let him live and walk away.

Kill

If you decide the samurai path is for you Jin will kill Lord Shinmura, achieving some form of final reconciliation. After the credits, Jin will be in his new place of residence labeled Dawn Refuge just slightly west of the Mamushi Farmstead. You’ll also notice that you’ve now unlocked a new white color scheme for your Ghost Armour called ‘Righteous Punishment’.

You’ll also get some final words with Yuna.

Spare

After declaring that he has no honour, Jin walks away from Lord Shimura, accepting his final fate as The Ghost.

After the credits he’ll once again be in his new bachelor shack, but this time it’s labelled Tradition’s End and is placed next to Omi Monastery. You’ll also again earn a new color dye for your Ghost armor, but this time it’s called Vow of Vengeance and is a lovely shade of red instead.

Everything is largely the same beyond your new outfit color and the location of Jin’s new crib. You do get a slightly different conversation with Yuna though.
