There seems to be a lot of debate on how many grenade throws there are in CS:GO. After experimenting I found these to be the ones that work and can be used very effectively and consistently (with practice).

1: The Standing Right Click Throw:

  • This throw is the 4th furthest and default throw that everyone should know
  • Effective with just about every nade
  • Semi situational

2: The Walking Right Click Throw:

  • This is the 3rd furthest and default throw that everyone should know
  • You still walk quietly as to not give away your position but can still throw far
  • Semi situational

3: The Running Right Click Throw:

  • This is very helpful for needing that “full send” energy
  • Semi situational

4: The Jumping Right Click Throw:

  • Very far distance
  • Need to either master the timing or make a key-bind to do this one as it is very useful for smoke-flash lineups

5: The Jumping Running Right Click Throw:

  • Same as number 4

6: The Standing Left Click Throw:

  • This throw is the shortest throw that everyone should know
  • Effective with just about every nade
  • Semi situational

7: The Walking Left Click Throw:

  • This is the 3rd furthest and default throw that everyone should know
  • You still walk quietly
  • Good for pop flashes
  • Semi situational

8: The Running left Click Throw:

  • This is very helpful for needing that “full send” energy but not as much
  • Can be useful for pop flashes
  • Semi situational

9: The Jumping Left Click Throw:

  • Very high height with moderate distance
  • Pretty good for sunset pop-flashes

10: The Jumping Running Left Click Throw:

  • Same as number 9

11: The Right+Left Click Throws (Middle Throw)

  • Average the throws for Right and Left and you will get 5 more distinct throws

Total different and useful throws (dependent on situation) = 15.

My first game was Naughty Dog’s Crash Bandicoot (PlayStation) back in 1996. And since then gaming has been my main hobby. I turned my passion for gaming into a job by starting my first geek blog in 2009. When I’m not working on the site, I play mostly on my PlayStation. But I also love outdoor activities and especially skiing.
