Minecraft Earth Guides:
Collecting Different Mobs
In Minecraft Earth, the term “mobs” is used to describe other living creatures in the game, like animals or Creepers. You can collect mobs as you discover them throughout the world.
Aside from the inanimate objects you’ll find like trees and blocks, you’ll see chickens, pigs, and sheep as you explore. When you open up the app, you’ll likely see many mobs around you.
As of November 20, 2019 the game is still in early access, so the selection of mobs is limited. You’ll see more as Minecraft Earth gets more updates.
When you tap on a mob, it will give you items that pertain to it. For example, the chicken will give you feathers, and the sheep wool.
In addition, some mobs can be found within Buildplates, so you’ll want to experiment with them to discover all the mobs the game has to offer.
Mobs in the Park Events
To spice things up, Mojang has created mob events known as Mobs in the Park, which take place in various cities around the world. These events give you opportunities to acquire those hard-to-find mobs like the Muddy Pig, Moobloom, and Jolly Llama.
There will be near-life-sized mob statues that appear in the participating cities, which include a QR code that give you access to some rare goodies, like the aforementioned mobs.
Currently, an event is going on for three consecutive weekends until December 1, 2019. They last from 10am to 7pm.
Here are the participating cities:
- New York – The Shops and Restaurants at Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001
- London – The Queen’s Walk, Southbank
- Sydney – Campbell’s Cove – 35 Circular Quay W, The Rocks NSW 2000
