Surviving Survival Mode
Survival Mode in No Man’s Sky presents an increased challenge from the default “Normal” mode the game provides. Resource management is critical to survival. Players start the game a fair distance from their ships with limited suit protection and must find shelter immediately. The starting planet always contains hostile weather and wildlife, and suit resources are consumed more quickly.
This video guide walks the player through the first critical minutes of survival mode, from program login to ship launch. Some helpful tips are included in the commentary.
Once the player has found, repaired, and launched their ship into space, the game more-or-less plays like Normal mode. All players should be able to accomplish this feat in under 30 minutes.
