Sonic Mania – How to Use Any Character in Encore Angel Island

This is a guide on how to use any character in Angel Island from Plus’ encore mode. This means Sonic, Tails, Knnuckles, Mighty, Ray, Sonic and Tails, or anyone with Knuckles.

Get The Dev Menu

To begin, we need the dev menu! To get it is easy. Just R Click mania on steam and hit Properties.
A menu Should appear. Click Local Files, Then Browse Local Files. in the new window, double click Settings.ini. A text document will open. Make a new line under [Game] and type “devMenu=y”. Save the Document and close it.

Open The File

Now that the “hard” part is done, we need to continue by Loading sonic mania plus. Then, load a save file. this save file can have any character on it, including sonic and tails. Also, you can use &Knuckles with this. once your in a level on your save file, we can advance to the final step.

Load Angel Island

Once in your save file, Press esc (Escape) and a blue menu should appear. use the up, down, and enter keys to navigate the menu. scroll down to “Stage Select” and press enter. Then go to “Cutscenes” and press enter, then go to “Angel Island Zone Encore” and press enter. Angel Island should load and you will be your character. Just play and have fun now!
